In accordance with PA Charter School Law, siblings of currently enrolled students get preferential enrollment ahead of non-sibling new enrollees. However, sibling enrollment is not guaranteed, as Collegium must review the returned enrollment materials to ensure completion and then determine space availability. Sibling enrollment is only for prospective students who are siblings of currently enrolled Collegium students. Sibling enrollment materials will not be mailed home to families.
Enrollment Requirements for Siblings
Exceptions to the requirements below will not be considered.
All students must reside in Pennsylvania.
- Siblings of currently enrolled Collegium students include: siblings by birth, stepsiblings, adopted, and foster siblings. Also included are wards subject to legal guardianship or other children related by blood or marriage living with the currently enrolled CCS student’s family in a regular parent-child relationship and who are dependent upon the current student’s parent(s) for support. A court order or a completed and notarized guardianship form is required to document guardianship status.
- Kindergarten students must be (5) years of age by August 31st of their kindergarten year.
- First grade students must be (6) years of age by August 31st of their 1st grade year and must have successfully completed an accredited kindergarten program.
To receive preferential sibling enrollment, completed sibling enrollment materials must be submitted to Collegium by Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 noon.
Families will be notified of the sibling’s enrollment status after the sibling enrollment period ends on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 noon. Sibling enrollment/wait list notification will occur in December 2017. The sibling enrollment receipt is provided via email and documents Collegium’s receipt of the necessary materials. If there are problems/questions about your sibling enrollment, you will be required to provide the receipt. Without an enrollment receipt, Collegium will not review an enrollment-related claim. Exceptions to the deadline (Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 noon) will not be considered. Please do not wait until the last minute to complete the sibling enrollment process.
A sibling will not be enrolled, placed on a waiting list, or included in a lottery while their materials are incomplete. Whenever possible, Collegium will attempt to contact families to alert them of their inaccurate or incomplete enrollment material submission. This contact will be attempted only one (1) time via email message. Please do not wait until the last minute to complete the sibling enrollment process. Exceptions to the deadline (Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 noon) will not be considered.
Important Dates* for 2018-2019 Sibling Enrollment
November 6, 2017 (Monday) – The sibling enrollment period for the 2018-2019 school year begins at 9:00am. Sibling enrollment materials will not be mailed to families. The materials will be posted on the Sibling Enrollment page of the Collegium website and available in Collegium’s office at 435 Creamery Way, Exton, PA. Once Collegium receives completed sibling enrollment materials, families will receive a sibling enrollment receipt via email. However, the sibling enrollment receipt does not confirm enrollment – simply that Collegium received the completed materials. Families submitting completed sibling enrollment materials before the deadline (Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 noon) will be notified via U.S. mail regarding their child’s 2018-2019 enrollment status (either enrolled or placed on the waiting list). Enrollment status information will not be provided via email message or telephone conversation. Enrollment status notification will occur during December 2017.
AFTER Monday, November 20, 2017 at 12 noon – Sibling enrollment materials received or completed after this deadline will not be considered for preferential sibling enrollment. Instead, once the sibling enrollment materials are complete, those siblings will participate in the General Enrollment Lottery held in late January 2018. Exceptions to enrollment deadlines will not be considered.
*Dates provided and the enrollment process are subject to change. Changes will be posted on the Collegium website. Please review the website for up-to-date information.
Once submitted, all received enrollment materials become the property of Collegium Charter School.
